Every day, our Immigration Services Analysts perform research and conduct studies, plan and conduct a variety of management programs or activities, and facilitate and/or conduct training for USCIS staff and contractors on standardized procedures and processes related to their duties.
This position of IMMIGRATION SERVICES ANALYST starts at a salary of $57,982.00(GS-11 step 1), to $90,344.00 (GS-12 step 10). The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
As an Immigration Services Analyst , you will provide support to both the Operational and Administrative functions within USCIS. You may:
Plan and conduct a variety of management programs or activities that will impact Field and Service Center activities or operations. Monitor operational activities to ensure they meet compliance requirements.
Coordinate with Adjudications Personnel to resolve issues with pending and/or completed applications and petitions.
Coordinate and implement management information systems that focus on long and short range plans, policies and programs related to goals, objectives and priorities established by statutes, executive orders, DHS, Program Managers, and/or supervisors.
Research, prepare and provide verbal or written technical guidance, information and support to various USCIS office management staff in the application of management systems and/or programs.
Conduct data queries, validate and analyze data, and create reports for management on program elements.
Act as the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (upon completion of DHS mandated certification requirements) at local level, performing and/or supporting COTR functions or contractor oversight to ensure compliance with the contract and the SPW/PWS.
Perform research and conduct studies which involve the search and examination of USCIS records and databases to obtain pertinent information on cases, policies, procedures, trends, evaluations, and other similar matters to make determinations on case specific problems.
Respond to case specific and general filing inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including various USCIS offices, contractors, and other government agencies.
Conduct training for USCIS staff on standardized procedures and processes related to their duties.
GS-11: You qualify at the GS-11 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Gathering, reviewing, verifying and consolidating information and statistical data; conducting studies to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems in organizational structure, staffing, administrative procedures, work processes, or workload distribution; using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to assess factual or procedural issues related to management processes, systems and mission support programs. OR
You may substitute a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent degree) or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in any field, or L.L.M. if related for experience at the GS-11 grade level. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise three years of graduate study. If that information is not available, use 54 semester or 81 quarter hours.
GS-12: You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Performing a variety of budgetary and administrative functions implementing an organization's budgetary program.
Conducting studies, analyzing findings and making recommendations on substantive operating programs.
Conducting detailed analyses of complex functions and work processes such as production standards, workloads, and appropriate staffing levels.
Developing guidance on management evaluation techniques.
Developing manuals and directives covering the administrative aspects of field operations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
