Position will require supporting a primary application as assigned as well as other applications at Deringer, including but not limited to U.
S.
Customs Brokerage, Warehouse & Distribution or the Deringer customer portal.
Monitor applications and servers, take corrective action or contact 2nd level IT Support or vendor staff.
Work with 2nd level or vendors for resolution.
Troubleshoot / research issues to find a solution or detail information before transferring to 2nd level or vendor support Work with customers to create or update existing reports and shipping labels using available tool sets, which are provided by Deringer and or the vendor and approved.
Set up / retire internal and external customers in applications / servers.
Perform testing of applications, reports, and configuration changes.
Recording detailed results in the testing matrix.
Provide communication of application / system issues or schedule downtime to internal and external customers.
Create / update documentation to be used by IT and or customers as needed.
Provide on call support to Deringer staff during on call rotation.
Provide phone coverage for the Saint Albans complex during off shift hours that fall within IT onsite coverage hours.
Perform other duties as assigned by team lead or management.
Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent.
One to two years customer information systems support desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience with PC software tools, and general knowledge of computer terms.
Knowledge of reporting tools desirable.
Experience with distribution, customs house brokerage and export desirable.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Work effectively in a highly active team environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
